2011 EDAG Light Car Sharing Concept

EDAG unveil its new Light Car concept at the Geneva Motor Show. The company said that this new mobility concept will break down barriers between private and other transport systems, and provide the customer with an additional form of mobility.

The vehicle has an overall height of 1.9 meters. The range and maximum speed of vehicle have been set at 100 km and 100 km/h respectively. The company will use fiber composites and lightweight plastic parts in the outer panel parts. The basis of the vehicle is the refined EDbase platform, which the EDAG Group specially designed a year ago for the requirements of electric vehicles.

2011 EDAG EDAG Light Car Sharing Concept can seat up to six passengers, will have two side doors with simple sliding windows and a rear entry. The generously proportioned twin rear doors provide easy access to the six folding seats inside the car.

As line-up of Light Car family, the operators of the car sharing fleets can use GPS to locate their vehicles and communicate their locations to potential customers. The bookings can be made via Internet and the vehicle can be accessed by means of an electronic “Bluetooth key”.

The car is equipped with an in-house intelligent charger which can perform actual charging process and also sends vehicle information via the power supply system and decides the ideal time for charging, taking into account the availability of renewable energies and mobility behavior.
